History
The item was approved at First Reading at the March 8, 2021 Commission meeting. Following that hearing South Florida Water Management District provided comments, which staff have included, together with other minor amendments, in the revised Ordinance.
The minor corrections, include breaking the proposed new definitions into parts, clarifying that Neighborhood Services will enforce the code section, and added the updated reference for the Florida Friendly plant list.
Summary
The purpose of this Code of Ordinance amendment is to support the objectives of the City’s Comprehensive Plan and meet the conditions of the City’s Water Use Permit application which necessitate updating codes or adopting ordinances for landscaping and irrigation systems consistent with the Florida-friendly landscaping provisions of s. 373.185.
