Summary Explanation/Background Information on Agenda Request:
The Stuart City Commission awarded Request for Qualification No. 2019-300, Underground Utility Construction Services to the top four (4) most qualified firms.
Each firm was notified of the project on July 24, 2020. A mandatory pre-bid was held on August 5, 2020, three of the four firms participated. This project was competitively bid between four firms, Felix Associates, and Johnson-Davis Inc., Centerline Utilizes, Inc., and Sunshine Land Design. Two firms Johnson-Davis and Felix and Associates of Florida, Inc. submitted bids by the bid opening date and time of 1:30 pm, August 26, 2020.
Holtz Engineering the Engineer of record and Public Works staff recommends award to Johnson-Davis of Ft. Pierce, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, for the total unit price bid amount of $404,800.00.
