Summary Explanation/Background Information on Agenda Request:
Amendments have been incorporated following first reading and comments made by City Commission at the August 10th, 2020 meeting and further staff review. The purpose of the ordinance is to provide guidelines to demonstrate public benefit when developers are seeking to deviate from code restrictions.
Summary
In order to allow the quantification of the benefits provided through a Planned Unit Development (PUD) application process staff are proposing the incorporation of a PUD amenity criteria table.
The table provides a 'menu' of optional but measurable items that applicants may use to meet a minimum level of public benefit. The draft amenity criteria table is attached to this item.
The item was presented to the Local Planning Agency (LPA) on July, 16th 2020. The item was approved unanimously. Comments from the LPA have been incorporated where appropriate.
