RESOLUTION No. 95-2020; A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF STUART, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, OR THE CITY MANAGER, TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY FOR APPROVAL OF THE CITY OF STUART COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) AND THE CITY CDBG HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN (HAP) AND AUTHORIZE LOCAL REVENUES AS CDBG LEVERAGE, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
Summary Explanation/Background Information on Agenda Request:
The City is planning to apply to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for an FFY 2019 to receive funding, Housing Category Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) of $750,000. The program is designed to be City wide and will provide housing rehabilitation to serve approximately eleven (11) homes of low to moderate income households within the City of Stuart.
The Draft CDBG application and the Housing Assistance Plan was presented to the CRB on August 4th for feedback.
Funding Source:
A matching contribution in the amount of $50,000 for the CDBG program application was approved via Resolution No. 03-2020 CRA. The CRA matching funds will be spent to benefit LMI persons for housing rehabilitation activities in the CRA only.
