Summary Explanation/Background Information on Agenda Request:
City of Stuart Resolution No. 20-2018 authorized the City Manager to apply for a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Application for a multi-modal sidewalk along the east side of Dixie Highway and Green River Parkway. The NW Dixie Highway Sidewalk Extension project was subsequently approved for funding in the amount of $351,841.00 through the FDOT TAP program. In FY20 the City budgeted $80,000.00 for the design of the sidewalk extension; however, the design fees came in at $86,095.00. The subsurface utility engineering (SUE) and pedestrian traffic signal design at the intersection of NE Dixie Highway and SE Green River Parkway were more than anticipated. Therefore, an additional $6,095.00 is needed for the design.
