Summary Explanation/Background Information on Agenda Request:
The City Commission intends to regulate the use of plastics on City property. Because there are attainable alternatives to plastics which are polluting the landfills due to the inability to break down or biodegrate. It is the intention of the ordinance to be proactive in the reduction of plastic waste and to further create awareness and deter the future use of plastics on City property.
