Summary Explanation/Background Information on Agenda Request:
A lawsuit was filed by the a prior employee claiming that he was retaliated against after making a complaint to HR. The matter was covered by TRICO and therefore handled by outside counsel. However, based upon the deductibles and reinsurance, the City was responsible for the first $50,000.00 in attorneys fees or claims. The settlement will authorize the City to pay the funds to TRICO for handling the matter. Further, the City must vote to settle the claim as it requires City approval.
