Summary Explanation/Background Information on Agenda Request:
The City Commission directed the City Attorney to negotiate with David Dyess to enter an employment agreement to serve as City Manager within the parameters of the position approved by the City Commission. The Human Resources Department performed an updated salary survey which was reviewed by the individual commissioners. Each Commissioner has had the opportunity to meet individually with David Dyess as well as provide input to the City Attorney during the negotiation process. The terms of the agreement are a negotiated whole and therefore, the conditional acceptance of the agreement by David Dyess was conditioned upon all of the terms being accepted. The terms of the proposed agreement are within the parameters set by the City Commission. Mr. Dyess has indicated that if the Commission approves the agreement as it is currently drafted that he is willing to accept same and sign immediately.
